Vintage-look flowery heart

While taking advantage of Waitrose’s excellent air conditioning the other day I found myself having a look at their brochures by the  customer service desk (haha, you didn’t think I could afford to shop there did you? I just wander about ’til I’ve cooled off and then buy an onion so as not to take total advantage). They have a new leaflet out for their flower service which has a lovely picture of roses and peonies in muted pinks on the front. Suffice to say, it wasn’t long before I’d grabbed a handful and scampered home to dig out my heart punch…

I’ve done this piece a bit differently to the others – the heart shapes are mounted onto a heart shaped piece of card which is then in turn mounted onto a high quality backing card and presented in a 25 x 25cm box frame. I think it has a bit of a vintage-y feel to it and would be perfect for a girly bedroom!

Handmade box framed Union Jack

Thanks to the Royal Wedding in April and the upcoming Olympics – only a year to go! – the Union Jack seems to be everywhere at the moment. Cushions, canvases, passport holders – you name it, the Union Jack is on it.

I decided to jump on the trend bandwagon by creating this Union Jack art. Made out of stars cut out of metallic red and blue and plain white card, it comes in a box frame measuring 25 x 25cm which can either be hung on a wall or stood on a flat surface.

Wedding bells

Judging by the number of glamourously attired ladies and gents around St Mary’s Hitchin on Fridays and                                                                                                                                                   Saturdays, wedding season is well and truly upon us!

Finding a wedding present that’s perfect for the happy couple can be difficult, so how about a piece of bespoke artwork?

This Love Hearts piece comes in a white box frame (measuring either 25 x 25cm or 50 x 50cm) and is handmade using paper shapes cut from various sources – meaning that each piece of artwork is completely unique. The hearts are mounted on high quality white card to give a 3D effect. You can also choose to have the mount removed and more hearts in the frame.

You can choose to have your hearts in all one colour or to alternate them with white ones as seen here. This piece sells for£18 including postage and packing.
